JDRF has partnered with Goldfundraising.com to create an exciting fundraising opportunity where you and your invited guests get paid cash for their unwanted gold while raising money for your walk team.

Here’s how it works:

• You schedule and host a gold fundraising party at your home or place of business.
• You invite friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else looking to aid the JDRF cause and ask them to bring all of their unwanted gold items. These are items we all have that are just sitting around collecting dust.
• Make a pot of coffee and put out a few snacks, or do wine and cheese if you prefer. (The Goldfundraising.com team will provide you with a $75 allowance for refreshments.)
• A member of the Goldfundraising.com staff comes to your event and purchases your attendees’ unwanted gold items while you have fun and mingle with your guests.
• The gold buyers will pay your guests a premium price for their items in cash.
• At the end of the evening, the Goldfundraising.com representative will total up the dollar amount that was paid to all attendees and make a 20% donation to JDRF in care of your walk team. For example, if the total payout for the evening is $5,000 (the average payout for a Goldfundraising.com party), your walk team would receive an immediate donation of $1,000.

Please note that you and your guests will receive a full 100% payout for their items. The 20% donation will be made by Goldfundraising.com. You may make an additional donation from your proceeds, but you are under no obligation to do so.

Mindy Wisecup is planning an upcoming Family Festival in Rochester, IL, to benefit JDRF. We’ve attached a copy of the flyer they sent out. They have a lot of great raffle items, silent auction items and over twenty homemade quilts to auction as well. They are also serving food and offering lots of good old-fashioned childrens games along with two clowns making balloon animals and painting faces.
