A light rain added to the eerie mood on Sunday, October 25th as the St. Louis College of Pharmacy hosted their annual Boo Fest at Pumpkin Park on the Campus Quad. This spooktacular sugar-free Halloween party for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Metro Saint Louis/Greater Missouri Chapter is always a spirited event. Youngsters with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, their families and friends were entertained with games, clowns, a stilt walker, prizes and surprises. Make no bones about it, a special low carb lunch and treats made for a be-witch’n good time!

Dear Planning Committee,
Thank you for all you did in making Boo Fest such a resounding success yesterday. Even though we had to dodge a few raindrops, a lot of children had a lot of fun. It was a truly great event thanks to your hard work. I never cease to be amazed at the ingenuity and dedication of our STLCOP students in planning for Boo Fest. Please pass along my thanks to all the student leaders and volunteers. I am very grateful they took time out from their busy schedules to make the afternoon such a memorable one for the kids.
Thanks again! Marc Long

We drove from DeSoto, IL to participate in the Boo-fest. It was a pretty good time even with the rain. We got our picture taken, was wondering where we go to view them? Thanks to everyone that put their time into making this a kewl event for the kids! My daughter, Brooklynn-age 8, had a blast! She has been Type I for 2 years.

My Daughter Treasure enjoyed herself, as she does at all JDRF events. She is a people watcher, and liked seeing all the different costumes, and really loved seeing other kids getting their blood sugar tested. “Daddy, he’s a diabetic like me!” she said smiling. We love all that you do.
